Barcelona sunlight

We frequently worked on campaigns in Barcelona, a city that always offered what we in the Nordics spend half our year chasing – sunlight. For a Scandi creative, that alone can feel like a small miracle. The ease of shooting there, the simple fact that the sun shows up without negotiation, changes everything.

This time we were shooting a Spring campaign in February, working out of an artist’s apartment with a view stretching over the soft geometry of roof terraces. The space had an artistical charm. Half-finished sketches taped to the wall and small traces of a creative routine that didn’t try to impress. Monki’s brand concept of playful colours and patterns landed naturally in this environment, almost as if the place had been waiting for this moment.

Between shots, I moved through the rooms, noticing the subtle details that often frame a story more honestly than the planned setup. A sunlit corner, a proud cactus reminding us of the latitude. I placed the accessories from the collection in these everyday scenes of the apartment, letting them exist as characters of their own, part of the home rather than staged against it.

As always, Barcelona gave the project its tone without demanding attention, a steady brightness and a feeling that creativity could unfold without resistance.
